God Is Not Angry With You
Let
me start by making use of this analogy. One evening, I was peeling the skin of
some oranges and I had a flashback of myself when I was younger and still
mastering the act. Then, I would peel it in little cuts and look at my progress
to know if I had cut into the orange which will reveal the juicy interior.
This, I continued for some time until I became very conversant with the knife
which sometimes, then, even caused me palm injuries. I just smiled at myself and
I quickly realised that at this stage of my life, I do not look back to check
my progress, neither do I get myself injured with the knife, I just peel, with
the confidence that I know how to do it.
This
aroused a sober reflection in me. I concluded there and then that Christianity
is just like that. Many Christians, even “spirit filled” sisters and brothers,
still have the consciousness of sin running in their veins. This sin
consciousness is even more dangerous than sin itself, because it pulls a Christian
away from God, making her/him unnecessarily guilty. Romans 8:1 says, “There is
therefore, now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus and who work
not according to the flesh but according to the spirit” KJV. This is practical.
God has sent his only son to die for us that we may not be condemned, John
3:16. All we need to do is believe in the gift He has given. Stop looking back
at your old self, you are a new creation, 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Stop
being conscious of the mistakes you have made and would make, but wax strong in
the confidence that Christ has borne everything for you and me. Just like
peeling the skin of an orange with ease, you will go through life without
struggling to do it right. YOU CANNOT SIN. Once you have Christ as your Saviour,
you can only stumble, and when you do, don’t run away from God. He has already
forgiven you a long time ago, you just need to go to Him in prayer and thank
Him for His gift of forgiveness. Trust me, this will not make you think about
doing evil because your Father will not accept it and the Holy Spirit in You
will make you know that you are wronging Him.
So
many people have tried to misinterpret God, with the notion that once you
stumble, He will strike you dead. This makes us sin conscious, leading us to
sin even more. I implore my Christian brethren to look into the scriptures of
truth and not the chain of laws. God is not angry with you!

This is amazing. I am so loved by God. #shalom
